A Denver Office Refresh: Bringing Colorado's Landscape into the Workplace

Looking to refresh their Denver office space, this leading professional service firm wanted to infuse their environment with the spirit of the Colorado landscape. The team’s vision for the space was to create an inviting, engaging atmosphere that establishes a unique sense of place.

From Helen Brechlin, the Art Advisor at TurningArt:

"TurningArt worked on this office over five years ago, so it was exciting to return and reconsider the space. The team at the Denver office had a clear vision for the project: incorporate the local Colorado landscape, drawing inspiration from the vistas of the Red Rocks. The goal was to create a dynamic and welcoming atmosphere with an aesthetic that harmonizes with the natural beauty of the Colorado mountains.

A priority throughout the project was sourcing artists who truly embody Colorado, and I think the final collection is an excellent representation of that initiative. We were thrilled to feature original paintings by local artists: Lui Ferreyra in the reception, and David Gonzales and Emily Dwan throughout the collection. Kathleen Frank’s painting of the San Juan peaks, a distinctive mountain range outside of Denver, lights up the main office space.

For the vinyl wall graphics, we partnered with Magik Studios, a Denver-based creative studio specializing in murals. These stunning mountain scenes are high-impact elements of the collection. When placing art, especially meaningful integrations such as these graphics, we always consider how each placement will shape the experience. We ultimately decided to move the graphics from a single wall down the corridor to the two walls that flank the elevator doors. This creates the effect of stepping into an immersive environment and establishes a strong sense of place as you move through the space.

The finished product exemplifies how a refresh with thoughtful artwork creates a big impact, and can make the same space feel fresh and new again.” Art consulting for Denver Office

From Emily Washek, Interior Design Project Lead at Corgan:

“This project was an exciting exercise in bringing a client's distinct vision to life in collaboration with TurningArt.

The client’s Denver team approached the process with a clear aesthetic direction: bright, dynamic, and deeply rooted in their location. They also wanted to feature outdoor activities like skiing, hiking, and biking, giving this project a unique visual identity. While their previous collection was more neutral, we aimed to subtly reinforce a sense of place through vibrant hues and natural textures inspired by the surrounding landscape. A highlight of the collection is a custom wall installation composed of wood and copper with all the partners’ names, which beautifully complements the artwork and integrates natural materials and tones drawn from the surrounding environment.

The final collection is a great example of how thoughtfully selected artwork can elevate design goals and add a completely new energy to a space. The team in the Denver office is thrilled with the graphics and has received enthusiastic positive feedback from team members and visitors. The collection aligns with their vision, and they love how distinctly local the space feels.”
