The Project
Featuring high ceilings, large windows, and open floor plans, 179 Bear Hill Road is a former industrial warehouse that has been renovated into a modern, flexible workplace for 21st Century office, lab, and R&D users.
TurningArt worked to create a bright and engaging rotational artwork program featuring predominantly local artists from the greater Boston area.
“Brian, Managing Partner of btcRE and owner of 179 BHR, is unlike any building owner I’ve worked with. When I went onsite to help oversee the rotation of the artwork, I met him sitting with his tenants chatting over a bowl of ice cream. I know Brian is very busy with his other building projects but he still takes the time to engage with individuals within the building he worked hard to renovate. The use of TurningArt’s Team Vote tool is a perfect example of one way Brian ensures that his tenants remain happy and cared for. It is always a pleasure to work with someone who understands that artwork is so much more than a decoration - it has the power to promote well-being and happiness for all!”
From Brian, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at btcREWith Renee’s expert guidance and advice, we chose bright and colorful artwork for the common areas and shared amenities throughout 179 BHR, in order to add vibrancy to the spaces that are often neglected in office buildings. This year, we used TurningArt’s team vote tool to give tenants a say in the artwork selection process. I was so pleased that we received such great participation in the voting process from our tenants. Seeing everyone’s engagement with the platform - and the extremely positive feedback from tenants - truly reinforces the importance of art in the workplace.”
