Designing for Growth: A Fresh Art Rotation at The Trade Desk Chicago

The Project

The latest rotation at The Trade Desk Chicago brought new energy to a growing workplace. After expanding their office, the team saw an opportunity to build on their existing art program with pieces that reflect their culture, creativity, and connection to the city. The collection features local artists, playful photography, and unique details such as a thoughtful selection for their “The Bear” conference room, inspired by the Chicago-based TV series. Every piece contributes shape to a space that feels fresh, personal, and energized.

From Emma, the Art Advisor

The Trade Desk Chicago was a standout example of the positive collaboration that comes with completing a rotation. Ali and Caliandra from the Workplace Experience team are passionate about creating a meaningful and inspiring environment for their colleagues. They approached the project with enthusiasm and a clear sense of direction, which helped guide thoughtful, well-informed decisions and ultimately led to a smooth curation process.

As we reviewed and refreshed their existing collection, one of our main goals was to identify areas that needed renewed attention. Ali and Caliandra shared fantastic feedback, noting new locations in their office expansion that were important to their team for this rotation. Their goal was to create an uplifting, contemporary, and unexpected environment, and I had a great time selecting artwork that brings that vision to life and will continue to energize their workplace.

From Ali Burke, Senior Manager, Workplace Experience at The Trade Desk Chicago:

Working with Emma was a fantastic experience and a testament to TurningArt’s ability to elevate a space in a way that is meticulously personalized and deeply meaningful to those who occupy it. When our collection became eligible for rotation, we were excited to partner with TurningArt again to refresh the space and expand our collection into our newly renovated office. With new blank walls and areas we wanted to incorporate, Emma’s high level of care and the expansive TurningArt catalogue were instrumental in curating a collection that evolves with our team.

The rotational program offers a unique opportunity to design an adaptable space that is receptive to team feedback and growth. The result is a fun, thoughtful, and diverse collection that resonates with our team and reflects our identity in Chicago.
