From the client, Charles River Laboratories

"Charles River provides products and services to help expedite the discovery, early-stage development, and safe manufacture of novel drugs and therapeutics. Our team is in the office every day, even throughout the pandemic. Because of this, some of our team members came up with the idea of sprucing up an outdoor patio space so that our people had a place to gather where they could take a break and be inspired. TurningArt was here at the perfect time and helped guide us through the process, as we had never implemented an art project at the site before. We assembled a small committee of decision-makers and found the process simple, fun, and very efficient. Our goal was to support a local artist and Erik incorporated all of our feedback - we are absolutely thrilled with the result.” - Joseph Holland

From the artist, Erik Burke

"The idea of being an Artist is often romanticized and off the mark. In reality, it is a difficult dance; the interplay of research, design, communication, delivery, storytelling, and execution. TurningArt turns all that multi-tasking into just tasking, leaving more space for being the best version of an Artist one can be. My mural for the common space of Charles River Laboratories was smoothly guided by TurningArt and I look forward to having them at the wheel so I can truly wil' out and make more memorable and unique artworks for clients seeking only the best."

From TurningArt’s Creative Project Manager, Abby Frank

"The team at Charles River expressed a desire to work with a local Reno-based muralist, so TurningArt set out to connect with the community and expand our network. Reno native Erik Burke was awarded the commission and delivered an exceptional design that exceeded expectations. The Charles River team engaged very thoughtfully throughout the design process and instantly connected with Erik. It was important to include local references in the mural and tell a story that celebrated Nevada. Erik developed a fluid composition that transformed the area into a focal attraction on the property.  Now, staff not only enjoys fresh air at lunch but also an elaborate 700 sq ft mural that transports them to vivid desert scenes featuring native flora like sagebrush, the state flower, and geological treasures. It was a true pleasure to work with this group!”
