Creating a Sense of Place Through Art at 23Springs

Developed by Granite Properties in partnership with Highwoods Properties, 23Springs consists of a distinctive, Class AA office tower, a neighborhood park, and two freestanding restaurant buildings in Uptown Dallas. The project adds a major architectural presence to the Uptown and Dallas skyline and offers a premier work experience through a unique set of collaborative spaces and elevated amenities for top talent to enjoy.

To enhance the look and feel of the building, Granite partnered with TurningArt to curate a collection of art pieces complementing the building's sophisticated interior design while celebrating Dallas culture and art community.

From Cecilia Christman, the Art Advisor:

"The primary goal for 23Springs was to curate an elevated and dynamic art collection that would inspire customers and reflect Granite’s dedication to delivering extraordinary visitor experiences. The resulting artwork beautifully complements the property’s innovative features and reflects the local Texas artist community.

When starting the curation process, we leveraged TurningArt’s custom gallery page tool to align on aesthetic directions and preferred subjects. While some initial themes carried through, we pivoted our style slightly after gathering feedback from additional members of the Granite team. We landed on the final selections through a highly collaborative process rooted in open communication and frequent meetings.

One of the priority artwork placements was a large-scale wall at the top of the grand staircase. It was an exciting challenge to intentionally furnish a wall of that scale, and we commissioned a five-piece series by local artist Daniela Pasqualini. The gradient, textural composition is inspired by a sunset and incorporates the rich colors of the lounge’s furnishings.

Working with Nate Krisko, Aaron Bidne, and the entire Granite team was a pleasure. They are thoughtful, engaged collaborators whose deep care for delivering an unparalleled client experience resulted in a state-of-the-art collection and space. The final artwork program is an eye-catching blend of dynamic, vibrant abstract paintings that welcome customers, employees, and visitors to the space.”

From Nathaniel Krisko, Development Manager at Granite Properties:

“During the development phase of 23Springs, we prioritized placemaking and knew art would play a major role in creating an inspiring and welcoming environment for our customers.

We were excited to engage TurningArt’s local artist network for the space and have Cecilia guide us through the artwork selection process. She delivered a sophisticated and dynamic art collection that catches your eye, celebrates Dallas’ culture and vibrant art scene, and enhances the building’s sophisticated and inviting design.”
