Situated along the marshes and coastline of Revere, MA, Gibson Point is a luxury multi-family residence developed by Redgate and designed by Arrowstreet Architecture to offer a holistic, peaceful lifestyle just outside of Boston. When it came time to add the finishing touch to this tranquil haven, Redgate turned to TurningArt to create an art program that would reflect the natural beauty and rebirth of the site itself.
The curated collection blends meditative, nature-inspired works with locally informed storytelling. A site-specific ceramic installation in the main welcome area draws inspiration from a surprising source: historic glass bottles unearthed during construction. These artifacts, reminiscent of seaglass and beachcombing, became a symbolic thread running through the space. The resulting program transforms Gibson Point’s shared areas into a gallery-like experience that enhances daily living for residents and honors the site’s connection to water, history, and renewal.
From Becky, the Art Advisor
“I had been following Redgate’s work and reached out directly when I saw the Gibson Point project announced. It felt like such an elevated, thoughtful development that deserved an equally intentional art program. From our first conversation, it was clear that the team was invested in creating a space that felt like a true retreat. They had a strong sense of the property’s identity, rooted in wellness, balance, and connection to the local landscape.
One of the most special moments in the process was learning about the glass bottles discovered during excavation. I immediately knew we had to reference them in the artwork. They became the color palette and conceptual core of our site-specific ceramic piece by Christina Watka, which anchors the entry space and subtly echoes the project’s values: transformation, reflection, and a sense of place. It was an honor to help bring that vision to life and collaborate with such thoughtful partners. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.”
From Justin, Senior Project Manager at Redgate
“As developers, we aim to create more than buildings: we’re building experiences. At Gibson Point, our goal was to offer residents a lifestyle centered on wellness and serenity, grounded in the beauty of its natural setting. The site had its own hidden history, from the nearby coastline to artifacts like vintage glass bottles uncovered during construction. Incorporating those elements into the art helped us tell a more meaningful, site-specific story.
Working with TurningArt made this possible. Their team helped translate our vision into a cohesive, meditative collection that elevated the space while remaining deeply personal and locally inspired. The artwork became not just decoration, but a narrative thread that ties together the design, architecture, and lived experience of the property.”
