The expansion of this leading professional services firm’s Washington, DC office was more than just an addition of space—it was an opportunity to enrich the workplace environment through art. With an established visual identity on the existing floors, the new expansion continues this artistic narrative while introducing fresh perspectives through locally inspired and community-driven installations.
This project prioritizes visual cohesion while embracing innovation, featuring interactive and meaningful activations. A dynamic History Wall shares key milestones from the firm’s local and national presence, alongside the city’s own evolution. Two Community Walls highlight artwork from the “Reading is Fundamental” charity, complemented by original and commissioned pieces from DC-based artists. The space also features striking large-scale vinyl graphics by Michael Crossett, intricate mosaics by Dany Green, and works from ArtLifting—an organization the firm proudly supports—creating a workspace that is engaging, inspiring, and reflective of the surrounding community.
From Helen, the Art Advisor
"This artwork expansion was a unique opportunity to reinforce the artistic vision already present in the space while introducing new elements that bring fresh energy and deeper meaning. The goal was to ensure a seamless transition between the previous floors while incorporating artwork that reflects the firm’s values and connection to the Washington, DC community.
A key challenge was balancing continuity with new perspectives. The collection not only aligns with the established aesthetic but also invites interaction and engagement—whether through the History Wall, community-driven activations, or the diverse range of local artists featured throughout the space.
Having previously collaborated on the upper floors, this expansion allowed us to build upon an already strong artistic foundation, reconnect with familiar artists, and introduce new voices. It was a privilege to help create a space that is not just visually striking but also deeply reflective of the firm’s culture and its ties to the community."
From the Client
"This expansion was an opportunity to create a welcoming and inspiring environment that reflects our company’s connection to the community. We wanted the artwork to celebrate diverse talent, highlight the rich character of Washington, DC, and bring new energy to the space while maintaining cohesion with our existing design.
One of the most exciting aspects of this project was incorporating interactive and community-driven features, like the History Wall, which tells our story while leaving room for future milestones. The ability to evolve this feature over time makes it a truly dynamic part of our space. Working with TurningArt again was a seamless experience. Their expertise in curating artwork that aligns with our workplace identity resulted in a collection that feels both fresh and deeply connected to our values. The final result is a thoughtfully designed space that inspires, engages, and fosters a sense of connection within our workplace."
